Ben Bernanke: Current Federal Reserve Chairman, as of January 2006. Advocate of inflation targets as a way of setting public expectations of Fed actions. Fed Governor from 2002-June 2005, when he became the Chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisors. Professor of Economics at Princeton from 1985-2002, including two terms as department chair. His expertise was in the role of the Fed and monetary policy in the Depression.
