From the article: Facts About NAFTA
NAFTA created the worldâs largest free trade area, linking 439 million people and producing $15.3 trillion in goods and services annually. Many blame NAFTA for sending U.S. jobs to Mexico, while others criticize it for exploiting Mexico's farmers and its environment. But NAFTA also has advantages, such as stimulating economic growth for all three countries. What do you think? Why would it be bad?
- I've been doing reasearch on NAFTA in my Mod. world history class, and like other students and I have said. It doesn't sound bad. Yes We loose some jobs but we are gaining alot too, and having Canada as a better trade market is really great. we Needed to fix what happened between us during the "Nixon Shock". Mexico only seemed to go along with it for the ride. The only real down side is less border security which Harper and Obama are working on. Though conspiritors say that the NAU is coming the fact is Obama and Harper LAUGHED when they heard the crazy rumor, neither one of our leaders wish our countries harm and are trying to fix a dying world. I doubt any of us could handle the United states and please everyone.

- nafta has never helped anyone that does not own a business.it is the cause of higher oil prices which in turn raises prices on anything moved by truck.(fuel surcharge) passed on to consumers by trucking companies causing prices to climb every day oil goes up stop nafta before it sucks everyone dry

Regulations in forign countries needed.
- “682,900 U.S. jobs” When we really look at how NAFTA has had a continuing effect on us we see, “Exports to Mexico supported nearly 800,000 U.S. jobs in 2010, but imports displaced 1.5 million jobs for a net loss of nearly 700,000 jobs.“(Scott, 2011, Para 1) Ready for the kicker? NAFTA makes it easier for the elitists of our world to kill your planet, and the people that work for them. Ross Perot said it best, there are no environmental regulations in Mexico (THIS MUST CHANGE) or health insurance to pay, or higher wages. Can you hear the sucking sound yet? If you live in Mexico and you did not have a job before 1993 this is great. If you are an American it is one way the fat slob glutenous rich put the screws to your entire world. Remember both Democrats AND Republicans have posted this hideous act into place which has been what turned America into a quality, production country to a soon to be government dependant blind, deaf and dumb aspartame drinking handicapped society of angry ru

Is it really that bad?
- I'm a 9th grader in world geography trying to get this NAFTA stuff down. As far as I know it was a free trade system between U.S, Canada, and Mexico. He tells us all this good stuff about it but not much about the bad and when I read these comments it gets me to wonder, 'Is it really that bad?' I mean I'm curious about all this but how could America come to this? This is said to be worse than the depression. Someone give me a reason why NAFTA is so bad but there has to be some pros to it too....Right?

- All I remember is Ross Periou saying Quote If you pass nafta, you will hear the biggest sucking sound you have ever heard!!

sellout/buyout
- The purpose of NAFTA is to increase corporate profitability. How ironic that the taxes of the working people were used to defray the cost of corporate relocation. The recent authorization for Mexican trucks/truckers to travel nationwide is costing more job losses for Americans and I would bet that the "Mexican" trucking companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of "American" trucking corporations. One of the Trojan horses used to help pass this law was that "if there are good jobs in Mexico it will really cut down on the illegal immigration" (har de har har). The type of person responsible for this is usually the first to say "we need jobs, where are the jobs" for example Gingrich, who voted for Nafta. Face it folks, our once great system has devolved to the point where the corporations are the johns, the representatives the pimps and the rest of us are the whores.

A Big MIC is Anti-American
- As George Washington and and Dwight Eisenhower warned us "Beware an overgrown military industrial complex its its misplaced "power" which is antihetical to republican liberties". As Darrell Scott mentioned, our big corporation wars are what is breing us down tday, not merely "big governmnet". the Fed Gov is corrupt, many other governmnet jobs do most beneficial things to our society (seeing we have highest cancer rates of most nations, due 80-90% to environmental injustice) Orgs keeping toxic chemicals out of our water, soil and air serve our nation. Modern War does NOT serve our nation, only "serves" pockets of perpetrators. Our innconet young wome and men used as pawns for profit in wrong direction. We need to come together and undertand that, despite the fact we may have been founded on a revolutionary war, it is now a primitive instution which needs to be abolished as a foreign policy. A strong standing army does NOT protect our nation, it does exact opposite.

question to john boener
- if taxing the trans national corperations and makeing the uber rich pay their fair share of taxes will hurt u.s. economy where is the trickle down that heir reagan promised when he cut their taxes in the 1980's? they trickled out that's where. by the way; the american tax payers bailed out bank of america ( too big to fail) then they started to foreclose on homes and put thousands of families out on the streets. they pay no taxes got 3.9 billion $ in bail out money and now they are going to fire 30,000 employees. they're eating their own now. how is not increasing taxes on the wealthy going to save anyone's job but you own. what transnational corperation owns you????? ib4ujb
