From the article: Stimulus Checks
The Federal government mailed out $250 stimulus checks to Social Security, Veterans and Railroad Retirement beneficiaries. If you qualified to receive a check, how would you spend it? Or would you save it? Spend It or Save It?

I would have no choice I would spend it
- After my husband left us with no home no job and no health care I was left with my son. We have slept in a motel and spent 3 months sleeping on the floor. I have degenerative bone disease that is much worse now..I had to leave my work because of my health. .He is a quadriplegic. worse then me..I do not walk like others. .I am a Christian woman.I would use the money to keep the small roof over our heads. It was once a barn that burned down years back. It now holds 5 different families. We are one of them. Money would b spent on new clothes 4 my son.New p.js with no holes and socks that i sew but keep wearing out. The fabric is to thin to sew any longer. I would buy him new boxers that fit him. For me? I would pay rent on time that would take the stress off me and allow me to sleep at night. I would have a fridge full of meats and fruits and veggies. I would stop worrying as much. Many times I had to put back food in the market when I went over.Pay electric bill. I only want 4 my son..

Cut the deficit. Report fraud & illegals
- to Laura & Angela & all others: If you know anybdy whos sitting @ home when they should be at job search classes & career/employment services provided by the welfare office you should report them.I am employment spec & Im sick & tired of chasing/calling free loaders who wont even show up for the free services we offer. I call employers, send out their resumes, follow-up & even bring employers into our classroom so those bums can be hired if they wanted to. Well even pay the salary for 1st 6 months. tI hink theres a 1-800 fraud # to call report them. These peoplecan do SOMETHING to earn their keep. most of the time theyarent even decent parents. Theyre mostly fat, lazy people who know where all the freebies are & how to work the various systems that should be TEMPORARY support for families who really need it & tell their friends they dont have to work either. Nobody needs 5 years to find a job.Id love to be able to sit home / not have to work too.

- My wife and I would sign the check over to the homeless shelter where we occasionally volunteer. The checks are just a smokescreen to keep us from looking at how broke we really are. Three trillion in debt, but we can afford to cash another check? We don't do that at home. And to the single Mothers (or fathers) out there, I say: You made your bed, now lie in it. Would you really rather be lazy drunken bums? Or, are you just threatening to do that if Mama government doesn't pick up after your messes? Spike Lee and Jesus were on the same page, when Spike said: Just do the right thing.

In response to free money
- Don't judge a book by its cover. I was unemployed for a year and I just finally got a job making $10.00 less than my last job. I too have collected unemployment and social service benefits. Not all people that receive services like are lazy. There are no good jobs available where I live, but that does not mean people are not looking. I just wanted to put that out there because everyone is not lazy, and I'm so sorry that you are not eligible for social services. Thanks

Free money
- I would save it. There are people out there who are not working and collecting welfare and unemployment and they are getting free money. I am a single mom trying to make ends meet. Why doesn't Obama give us free money like he does the people on welfare and unemployment. Its not fair. They are handed free money because they don't want to work or get up off there lazy butts and find a job. Where is my free money for actually working. My taxes pay for these people to sit at home and I can't even qualify for food stamps.
- —Guest Angela Hyatt
so not fair / I should become unemployed
- I am a single mother who works as much as I possibly can to make ends meet. I live in a bad neighborhood and all I hear about are my neighbors talking about how much free money they are getting...none of these people even work, half of them perfectly healthy. I could give you names of people that have scammed the system and are proud of it. It just doesnt seem fair that I scrape And borrow and juggle bills and I and people like me who actually work for a living get nothing, while my neighboors sit home drinking beer all day, collec. food stamps, free healthcare, and now extra cash.., I dont see the insentive to get these people back into society and to become taxpayers. What really kills me is I'm Paying for these losers to stay home. you really are making me want to join the unemployed. When will the people that struggle and work everyday get a break? in the last year my dtr got in a car acc.and fx. her back.she had no insur., my other dtr blew my car eng.yet there is no help for us.
