Question: How Can I Find Jobs in My Area?
Answer: Before looking for jobs in your area, you may want to find out if there are jobs. Some states have higher unemployment rates than the national average of 10%, so you are less likely to find a job in those areas. As of December 2009, some states had much higher unemployment rates: Michigan at 14.6%, in December, Nevada a 13.0%, Rhode Island at 12.9% and South Carolina at 12.6%. Some states had much lower rates than the national average: North Dakota at 4.4%, Nebraska and South
Dakota at 4.7% each. You would also have better luck in Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma, which all had a 6.6% unemployment rate.
