Hurricane Gustav knocked three ships loose from their moorings, but did not cause the same level of damage as Hurricane Katrina:

  • Preliminary insurance estimates are at $10 billion, not $41 billion.
  • Electrical outages reached 825,000, second to Katrina's 1.1 million.
  • Over 80 percent of the city isn't flooded.
